Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

GearPatch is a local-first web tool for creating live signal flow diagrams. This policy explains how this site handles diagram data, browser storage, cookies, advertising, analytics, and exported files.

Information handled by this site

GearPatch diagram data is stored primarily in your own browser. Gear names, cable details, notes, viewport state, autosave data, and version history may be saved in localStorage on your device. This data is not automatically uploaded to the GearPatch server.

If you export a diagram as JSON, PNG, SVG, or PDF and then send that file to another person, that sharing is performed by you. GearPatch currently does not provide user accounts, cloud sync, or an in-app contact form.

Cookies and Google AdSense

This site uses Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service. Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this site or other websites. Google's advertising cookies help Google and its partners serve ads that may be relevant to users based on visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

Users can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings page. Users can also manage, block, or delete cookies through their browser settings. If cookies are disabled, some site features or advertisements may not work as expected.

For more information about how Google uses cookies in advertising, please review Google's policies and advertising settings.

Use of localStorage

GearPatch uses localStorage for autosave, recent version history, and restoring the previous document state. localStorage is different from cookies and is generally available only within the same browser profile and site origin.

You can remove stored GearPatch data by clearing your browser's site data or by starting a new document inside the app. If you are using a shared or public computer, export any important work as JSON and clear the browser's site data when you are finished.

Analytics

This site uses the Google tag for analytics measurement. Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to understand page views, traffic sources, device information, and general usage patterns. GearPatch uses this information to improve the site and does not use it to read the contents of diagrams stored in your browser.

Google may process analytics data according to its own policies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and review Google's privacy information for more detail.

External links and disclaimer

This site may link to external websites. GearPatch is not responsible for the content, services, security, or privacy practices of external sites. Users are responsible for checking the accuracy and safety of diagrams, equipment connections, venue submissions, and live operation.

Policy updates

This policy may be updated when laws, advertising services, analytics tools, or GearPatch features change. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
